EROSION CONTROL AND BOTANICAL CONSULTING SERVICES

Incorporated in 1994, Western Botanical Services, Inc. (WBS) provides  consulting services to private and public entities requiring expertise in erosion control and botanical services. Covering California, Nevada, the Great Basin, the Lake Tahoe Basin, the Rocky Mountains, and Mexico, WBS has become a leader in erosion control, revegetation, disturbed site and habitat restoration, botanical surveys, environmental documents, wetland delineation, and mitigation since 1985. WBS has been a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) since 1993.  President Julie Etra continues to serve as Director of International Development for the International Erosion Control Association (IECA).

President Julie Etra founded WBS (formerly Tahoe Native Plants) in 1985 when she observed a need for slope, wetlands, and stream restoration in the Lake Tahoe Basin. She quickly developed a reputation for providing successful, cost effective designs delivered on schedule. Utilizing the most up to date technology and products WBS is unmatched in restoring natural systems to proper functioning condition. WBS uses mutli-disciplined teams to solve complex problems resulting in self-sustaining and healthy ecosystems. Design teams frequently include engineers, soil biologists, foresters, landscape architects, contractors, and material suppliers.

WBS has been involved in the most successful riparian and wetland restoration projects in the Lake Tahoe Basin, as revegegation designer and inspector but also for baseline botanical and soil surveys. Successful and award winning restoration projects in the Basin only include:
