Bordertown Transmission Line

This NV Energy project on Federal (USFS) and private lands consists of the construction, operation and maintenance of a 120-kV overhead transmission line between the existing Bordertown and California substations in Sierra County, California. It also includes modifications and improvements to substations and widening of existing roads and construction of new temporary access roads necessary for construction and maintenance of the proposed transmission line.

WBS has been tasked with obtaining baseline/existing conditions data (cover, species frequency), mapping of noxious and invasive weed populations, development of erosion control and re-vegetation specifications, construction oversight, and post-construction monitoring to verify that the project has met permit requirements.  To date we have obtained baseline cover data for four of the five plant communities within the project ROW.
