I-580 Freeway, Washoe County, NV

This Nevada Department of Transportation freeway extension project in south Reno is currently under construction. Since 1997, WBS has been a sub consultant to CH2MHill, providing a wide range of comprehensive services. WBS conducted extensive pre-design surveys to determine native plant communities, soil types, percent rock, and extent of Noxious weeds. WBS designed and montioried a series of test plots to evaluate material and equipment performance.  Design services included preparation of  revegetation and erosion control specifications and cost estimates. In 2006 WBS authored and presented two publications on the project, in English (IECA EC 06 Long Beach, CA) and in Spanish (CICES III Buenos Aires, Argentina) and is currently providing on-call construction oversight services.
